Swain Hot, Dairymen Cold
Friday, June 22nd , 1962
The Wisconsin Rapids Dairymen struggled at the plate today against Trappers hurler Bill Swain, who shackled them on 7 hits while hurling a complete game 4-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Dairymen skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Swain finished the game with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Grand Forks manager said. "Bill made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This year Swain has made no relief appearances and saved 0. His record is 6-1 with 85 strikeouts in 96 innings and a 1.50 ERA.
