Dairymen No Match for Sims, Bees in 12-0 Thumping Sunday, July 8th , 1962 Dave Sims of Burlington easily handled the Dubuque Dairymen, stopping them on 3 hits and chucking a complete-game 12-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said Dubuque manager . "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." He finished the game with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing. So far this season, Sims has logged a 8-0 record with a 1.31 ERA. He has started 20 games, hurled 109.2 innings and registered 110 strikeouts and 26 walks. |
