August's Premier Pitcher Announced by Penny Saturday, September 1st , 1962 The top pitcher this past month in the Pennsylvania-New York Baseball League was Rookie Placeholder of the Wellsville Tanners. He really bewildered league hitters, finishing August with an excellent 4-1 record and 3.65 ERA. The Tanners hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 33 hits in 37 innings.
