| Neckties began falling out of fashion in the mid-1880’s, and by 1890 only Boston and Chicago were still wearing them; likewise, buttoned jerseys had largely replaced the laced-up variety, with Brooklyn, Buffalo, and Washington being the last holdouts. By 1891 ties and laced jerseys were gone for good. |
