| Two innovations—short-sleeved jerseys and colored long-sleeved undershirts—made their debut this year. One gave rise to the other, and both gained rapid acceptance, becoming standard by the early ’40’s. The Traders were the first team to adopt both; the Knicks also adopted the colored undershirt this season, and the short-sleeved jerseys a few years later. The familiar “Traders” “and Chicago” scripts first appeared on their jerseys this season. |
