Pittsburgh Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in World Series
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Pinkney Hiller, the Pittsburgh Weavers stopped the visiting Philadelphia Quakers, 10-4, in Game 3 of the World's Championship Series today. Hiller was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Weavers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Hiller delivered in the bottom of the second inning for Pittsburgh. With the game tied and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the third baseman hit a 2-run single to center.

"Feels good to get the job done," Hiller said after the game.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Pittsburgh. Slated to start are Soup Boles for the Philadelphia Quakers and Bertie Albaugh for the the Pittsburgh Weavers.
