Quakers Clip Weavers 5-4 in World Series Contest
The Philadelphia Quakers topped the Pittsburgh Weavers by the score of 5-4 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the World's Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Philadelphia starter Junior Brownell, who threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.

Truman Kutz's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a forkball from Prince Bales for a 2-run double. It put Philadelphia in front, 5-4.

"This was a good win," said Brownell.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dormont Park in Pittsburgh. The scheduled starters for the game are Soup Boles for the Philadelphia Quakers and Bertie Albaugh for the the Pittsburgh Weavers.
