Weavers Hammered by Edson, Drop Game 6 to Quakers
The Philadelphia Quakers and the Pittsburgh Weavers will take the World's Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Quakers beat the Weavers 11-4 at Schuylkill River Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Philadelphia shortstop Irwin Edson was named player of the game in the win after he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

The fans who came in support of the Quakers were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Schuylkill River Park.

"It's on me," said Weavers manager . "The guys I sent out there today were the wrong ones for the situation. I'll be sure to send the right ones out next time."

Game 7 is scheduled for tomorrow at Schuylkill River Park in Philadelphia. The scheduled starters for the game are Ervin Fair for Pittsburgh and Junior Brownell for Philadelphia.
