RF Adam Lights Up Wolverines for 5 RBIs as Quakers Tie World Series
The Philadelphia Quakers and the Detroit Wolverines will take the World's Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Quakers beat the Wolverines 9-7 at State Fair Grounds to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Philadelphia right fielder Ollie Adam was named player of the game in the win after he was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5.

The most crucial at-bat for Philadelphia came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Adam stroked a full count cutter to left for a bases-clearing double, putting Philadelphia up, 7-6.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Adam told the Philadelphia News.

Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at State Fair Grounds. Slated to start are Junior Brownell for Philadelphia and Horace Hefner for Detroit.
