When the games really matter,
the Chicago Traders
put on their best show, beating the New
York Knickerbockers by a final score of 4-1
today. Aart
MacDonald earned player of the game honors, as
he threw 10 innings allowing 1 run. Chicago now
leads New York 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.
Whitey Jackson
made it 2-1, Chicago, in the top of the tenth when
he reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run.
It was a big at-bat in the Traders win.
"It's true for every sport, I think, but the
playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in
and get hot," Chicago manager told BNN after the
win. "We took care of the first part and now we're
just working on the second."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to
start are Eddie
Germany for the Chicago Traders and Jerry
Sneed for the the New York Knickerbockers.
