Almost There: New York On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 7-3 Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Corky Leonard, the New York Knickerbockers got a road win against the Chicago Traders, 7-3, in Game 4 of the World Series today. Leonard was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Knickerbockers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

Leonard's nice game included a clutch grand slam home run in the top of the third.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Knickerbockers manager said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Ray Underwood for the New York Knickerbockers and Aart MacDonald for the the Chicago Traders.
