New York Win Evens Series
at 3 |
Chicago
catcher Billy
Hall pounded New
York Empires pitchers at Union Field, but it
was not enough to keep the Traders from falling, 7-4
in Game 6 of the World Series. Hall was 3 for 5 with
a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and
driving in 2 and was named player of the game for
his efforts, even as he saw the Traders slip into a
3-3 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Gus Besson's
hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With
no one out, he rapped a cutter from Joe
O'Connell for a run-scoring single. It put New
York in front, 5-4.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said
Besson.
Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at Union Field.
The scheduled starters for the game are Jo-Jo
Lavelle for New York and Bunny
Bryant for Chicago.
