Quakers Get Past Traders 4-1 to Open LCS
If the Chicago Traders were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Hugh Zipp, they underestimated the old man.

The Philadelphia Quakers got a strong start from the 38-year-old right-hander, who earned player of the game honors today. Zipp threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball as Philadelphia won the contest 4-1 at Union Field to take the lead in their best-of-7 series with the Traders. The Quakers now lead 1-0.

The Quakers had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-1, Philadelphia, with no one out. Chicago, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Melbourne Trench dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch slider, he flied out.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Union Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Alex Geary for Philadelphia and Aart MacDonald for Chicago.
