Traders Clip Terriers 8-7
in WS Contest |
Riding the 4-hit performance
of third baseman Billy
West, the Chicago
Traders got a road win against the Boston
Terriers, 8-7, in Game 3 of the World Series
today. West was 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a
walk. He scored 2 times for the Traders, who now
lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
West had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the
top of the seventh inning, when he drew a walk,
driving in 1 run. The Traders went on to win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine
innings hard," said Chicago manager Winston Tinker.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at
Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Slated to start are Ken
Amison for Chicago and Ben
McHargue for Boston.
