Pittsburgh Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Pittsburgh Industrials have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Chicago Traders, winning 4-3 at Allegheny Field today. Industrials right-hander Willard Quattlebaum was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Industrials to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Had Harry Osborn not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Osborn hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Industrials.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Osborn said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Allegheny Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Ken Amison for Chicago and Walt Farkas for Pittsburgh.
