Quakers Clip Traders 3-2
in LCS Contest |
The Philadelphia
Quakers topped the Chicago
Traders by the score of 3-2 and moved into a
2-2 tie in the League Championship Series today. The
largest share of the credit went to player of the
game and Philadelphia starter Alex
Geary, who threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs in
the win.
In the bottom of the second, Philadelphia catcher Gary
Harmon had a productive at-bat. With runners
on 1st and 2nd and no one out, Harmon stroked a
3-run home run to left. It made the score 3-0,
Philadelphia. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a
home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard
down," Geary said. "I'll let my guard down as soon
as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my
finger."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Penn's
Landing Park. Slated to start are Joe
Shannon for Chicago and Jimmy
Smith for Philadelphia.
