League Championship Series
Goes the Distance, Chicago Prevails
|
In a series that had a little
bit of everything, the Chicago
Traders have edged the Philadelphia
Quakers.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the
tightly-contested League Championship Series, with a
12-2 win in the clincher being the difference for
Chicago and giving them the ticket to the World
Series with a 4-3 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push
came to shove we were going to get it done," said Billy
Hall, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Hall
hit .464 with a .469 on-base percentage. He had 3
home runs, drove in 12 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Chicago Traders
will play against the Boston
Terriers in the next round. Boston won their
series against the Seattle
Emeralds 4 games to 3. The World Series
schedule will be announced after the League
Championship Series finishes. |
