Hall, Chicago Start World
Series Strong with Home Win
|
Chicago
catcher Billy
Hall produced all the offense the Traders
would need today in the club's 13-0 win over the Boston
Terriers.
Hall was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding
4 RBI and scoring once and was named player of the
game, while Chicago
advanced one game closer to a World Series berth
with the win. The Traders now hold a 1-0 lead over
the Terriers in the best-of-7 series.
Billy West
hit a 2-run double off Ben
McHargue in the bottom of the third, which put
the Traders in front, 2-0. In addition to the
double, West had 2 singles and 1 walk, while going 3
for 4.
"Before the game, I told the guys that what happened
today would set the tone for the rest of the
series," Terriers manager Clark Anderson said after
the loss. "I'm really hoping I was wrong about
that."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Union Field.
Slated to start are Clint
Schultz for Boston and Ken
Amison for Chicago.
