The Buffalo Beavers got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Aart MacDonald, who earned player of the game honors today as Buffalo won the contest 7-5 at Wolverine Field. MacDonald threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Zip Cooper came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Detroit pitcher Les Nash, he hit a 1-2 slider for a 2-run double. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 5-3.

In postgame comments, Cooper told the Buffalo Times: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"

Game 3 is set to be played Friday, October 10th, 1952 at Beaver Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Ray Barker for the Detroit Wolverines and Ray Underwood for the the Buffalo Beavers.
