Lords Rally Past
Pobladores to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Baltimore
Lords started the League Championship Series
in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the
Los Angeles
Pobladores in a walk-off. Baltimore won 4-3
behind a good day from starter Joe
Sherman. The right-hander threw 8 innings of
4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Lords a 1-0
lead to start the best-of-7 series.
Joe Armstrong,
who finished 4th in the ABL in extra base hits with
75 last year, chipped in for Baltimore with a 2-run
home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game,
the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1
home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"A great game, a great day," said Sherman about the
win. "I can't complain."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Seton
Hill Stadium. Slated to start are Jim
Meier for Los Angeles and Gomer
Cooper for Baltimore.
