Buffalo Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in LCS
The Buffalo Beavers got a strong performance from pitcher Tony Williams, who stymied the visiting Detroit Wolverines en route to a 5-1 win in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. The Wolverines could never get a bead on the right-handed Williams, who threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball to earn player of the game honors. The Beavers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Jimmy Milo had a chance to do some damage in the top of the eighth. With Detroit trailing 3-0, Detroit had runners on 2nd and 3rd. Milo grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Detroit would not finish the comeback.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Beaver Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Tommy Johnson for Detroit and Ray Underwood for Buffalo.
