Cooper, Drop Game 6 to Beavers

The Buffalo
Beavers and the Detroit
Wolverines will take the League Championship
Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win
situation today, the Beavers beat the Wolverines 5-1
at Wolverine Field to force the series into what
will essentially be a one-game playoff. Buffalo left
fielder Zip
Cooper was named player of the game in the win
after he went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while
scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.
The Beavers took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth
inning. Facing Detroit hurler Les
Nash with one out, Cooper hit a solo home run.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters,"
Cooper told the Buffalo Times. "If you can win
without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at Wolverine
Field. Slated to start are Ray
Underwood for the Buffalo Beavers and Ray
Barker for the the Detroit Wolverines.
