Home Loss Shrinks Lords'
Series Lead to 3-1 |
Tommy
Johnson was not ready to let the World Series
end.
With the Detroit
Wolverines backed into a corner, the
right-handed Johnson held off the Baltimore
Lords. He took player of the game honors after
he threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the
series deficit for the Wolverines to 3-1 in the
best-of-7 series.
Johnson delivered a quality start for Detroit. The
5' 8" right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 9
innings of work.
Johnson called the win "a collective effort."
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Seton Hill
Stadium. Slated to start are Ray
Barker for Detroit and Gomer
Cooper for Baltimore.
