Cincinnati Win to Pull Even With Cleveland
|
The Cincinnati Packers knotted up the League Championship Series at Lakefront Stadium today, thanks in large part to starter Marv Traber. Traber quieted the Cleveland Bobcats, enabling Cincinnati to grab the 3-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Cincinnati left fielder Witness York delivered a solo home run in the top of the fifth. Overall, he went 4 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 2 singles, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 1.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Cincinnati skipper Martin Abresch.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 5th , 1962 at Roman Arena in Cincinnati.
