Underwood Handcuffs Bobcats, Bulls Seize 2-0 Advantage in LCS
The Kansas City Bulls got an exceptional performance from starter Bernie Underwood, who silenced the Cleveland offense en route to a 4-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The Bobcats could never get a bead on the right-handed Underwood, who threw 8.2 innings of shutout ball. The Bulls now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Underwood, a native of Middleborough, Massachusetts, was dealing all game. He kept Cleveland hitters off-balance, while giving the Bulls 8.2 quality innings. Underwood threw 126 pitches, allowing 7 hits and striking out 7.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Bulls manager DD Martin said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 8th , 1965 at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
