San Francisco Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
|
At 36, Jeff Butler knows he may not have many playoff appearances left, so he was determined to make it memorable. Mission accomplished.
The San Francisco Seagulls pitcher threw 8.2 innings of shutout ball to help his club get past the Detroit Wolverines, 9-0, in Game 3 of the Divisional Round at Mission Field. With the win, San Francisco now trails Detroit 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.
In his 114-pitch effort, Butler allowed no runs on 1 hit over 8.2 innings. He walked 3 and struck out 3.
"We have a lot of confidence in Jeff," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mission Field in San Francisco.
