Seagulls Win, Move to Within 1 Game of World Series
The San Francisco Seagulls moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the visiting Montreal Habitants at Mission Field by a score of 7-4. Seagulls right-hander Tim Stambaugh had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Seagulls a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Bob Raab, who finished 5th in the ABL in doubles with 31 in 1966, chipped in a 2-run home run for San Francisco in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'San Francisco Seagulls (probably) 1970 World Series Champions'," Stambaugh told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mission Field in San Francisco.
