Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Denver Burros home opener. Francisco Castro started for the home team against Bernie Underwood for the Kansas City Bulls. The Burros were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-2, Kansas City. Bernie Underwood, though, was impressive.

The Bulls got a big at-bat from second baseman Danny Phillips. For the game, Phillips was 1-5 with a double. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Kansas City a 2-1 lead.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bulls manager DD Martin.
