Pittsburgh Grabs 4-1 Road Win
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials downed the St. Louis Explorers, 4-1, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Stellar pitching by Dennis Visco had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in complete games with 7, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 7.2 innings, Visco surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 49-38.
With the game tied in the top of the fifth inning, Visco had a clutch at-bat. That's when he hit a run-scoring single to give the Industrials a 2-1 lead.
Said losing manager Ray Fleetwood: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
