Explorers Bridle Burros, 4-3

The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at Corps of Discovery Stadium, topping the Denver Burros, 4-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Randy Birch. He played a principal role in the triumph. Alex Alonso, credited with the save, is now 15 for 18 in save opportunities. Denver is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
St. Louis third baseman Adam Voeller contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 93rd hit of the season and put the Explorers ahead, 4-0.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
