Cincinnati turned a good effort from starter Chris Montgomery into a win over the New York Knickerbockers at Roman Arena. The final score was 3-2. Montgomery, now 11-2, was the winner. Cincinnati took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Glen Bennett hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Packers.

"Every loss hurts," said New York manager Timothy Widholm. "But this was a tough one."

With the win, Cincinnati pushed its record to 43-41.
