Denver Makes It 6 Straight with 8-6 Win
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Guillermo Morales, the Denver Burros defeated the St. Louis Explorers, 8-6. Morales went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Burros. Denver reliever Dan Valenti picked up the win. Bernie Tate, who finished 4th in the NBL in saves with 26 last year, took the loss for St. Louis. This win makes it 6 in a row for Denver.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Denver trailing 6-4, Morales jumped on a fastball from two-time All-Star Bernie Tate and hit a grand slam home run to left-center. With one swing, the Burros had a walk-off win.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Morales.
