Seagulls Stumble, Lose to Northmen
|
Twin Cities right fielder Carl Jacobs helped his team beat the San Francisco Seagulls, 9-4. Jacobs, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in stolen bases with 17, went 2 for 4 for the Northmen. Twin Cities has won 4 consecutive games.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Irv Olson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing San Francisco pitcher Richie Kolb, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Twin Cities on top, 5-4.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Olson. "I think we showed that here."
