Northmen Rack Up 5-2 Win Versus Los Angeles
|
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at San Vicente Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Pobladores, 5-2. Starting pitcher Gerald Gross played a key role in the triumph. By defeating Los Angeles, the 6th-place Northmen improved to 41-52.
Twin Cities used a well-timed hit by David Davalos to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Northmen ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Davalos said after the game.
