Quakers Pick Up 4-3 Win Against Cleveland
The Cleveland Bobcats and Philadelphia Quakers provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Philadelphia Quakers locked up a win at Lakefront Stadium, knocking off the Cleveland Bobcats, 4-3. On the mound for Philadelphia was left-hander Bob Freeland. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Freeland. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Roger Scherf. Darrell Klug notched his 12th save in 19 chances.

With the game tied, 2-2, in the top of the sixth, Freeland had a key at-bat for Philadelphia. With the bases loaded, Freeland hit a run-scoring single off Roger Scherf, making the score 3-2, Quakers.

"Bob gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Philadelphia skipper Jeff Green.

Philadelphia is 39-58 and Cleveland, with the loss, 57-37.
