Barrera Homers Twice in 8-4 Win
Led by Pedro Barrera, the New York Knickerbockers downed the Denver Burros, 8-4. Barrera slugged 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Knickerbockers. The win for the Knickerbockers raised their record to 53-43.

New York left fielder Bob Underwood contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 98th hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 5-4.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Underwood.
