Wranglers Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
The Dallas Wranglers topped the Houston Drillers, 4-3, in American Baseball League action at Sam Houston Field. The standout performance belonged to Dallas pitcher and Kelso, Washington, native Barry Gilmore. The win went to Art Stager in relief, making him now 1-2. Billy Gray took the loss for Houston. Now 2-8, the Drillers have gotten off to a poor start.

Dallas won the game in part because of Ron Somers. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wranglers ahead, 4-3. For the game, Somers had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

Somers called the win "a collective effort."
