Win Makes Houston 60-41
|
Houston and Atlanta played a hard-fought contest.
In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Drillers and the Atlanta Generals, Dick Knight was the X factor. The Houston right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Houston has a record of 60-41, placing them second in the American Baseball League Western Division.
Bob Rawlins, who finished 3rd in the NBL in runs with 102 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Rawlins contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
Knight called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
