The Montreal Habitants got a sterling performance from pitcher Manny Esparza, but the Seattle Emeralds still prevailed, 1-0. Esparza threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Dooley Brewer got the save, his 6th in 10 chances. With the win, the Emeralds have a record of 54-47.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Emeralds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when third baseman Mike Weatherby hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Manny Esparza and made the score 1-0, Emeralds. Weatherby was 1-3.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
