Bulls Prevail, 2-1, Over St. Louis
|
Independence Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Kansas City Bulls starter Pedro Nunez turned in a sterling performance against the St. Louis Explorers, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Nunez picked up the win for Kansas City, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-9. Andy Luce got the save, his 8th in 10 chances.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Roy Dunphy put Kansas City in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Bulls went on to win the ballgame.
Dunphy attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
The 5th-place Bulls have won 5 straight.
