The St. Louis Explorers knocked off the Denver Burros, 7-3, in National Baseball League action at Gates Crescent Park. St. Louis pitcher and Brooklyn, New York, native Ramon Juarez had an outstanding performance. St. Louis is now 51-53, Denver 67-37.

Bob Raab came through with a big-time hit for St. Louis. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Juarez after the game.
