Wolverines Win 5-4 Walk-Off

Though he had a stellar game, Ralph King could not prevent his team, the Boston Terriers, from losing, 5-4, to the Detroit Wolverines. King was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tim McGovern got credit for the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The win gives Detroit a season record of 56-47.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Booker Lee, who finished 2nd in the ABL in doubles with 34 in 1966, hit a 2-run single. The Wolverines went on to win.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Lee. "But we got it done."
