Blockbusters Lose, 4-3, at Corps of Discovery Stadium
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the St. Louis Explorers and Los Angeles Blockbusters.
With left fielder Randy Barnes leading the charge, the St. Louis Explorers defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 4-3, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Barnes, who is a seven-time All-Star, was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win went to Robbie Goolsby in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Ken Morrison took the loss. Bernie Tate earned the save for St. Louis, his 12th.
Barnes had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Explorers went on to win.
"I was a little disappointed," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Blockbusters, at 47-61, have lost 4 straight games.
