The Pittsburgh Industrials defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 10-9, at Flatbush Park. Pittsburgh third baseman Keith MacPherson had a superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. The winning pitcher was Jerry Zaruba. He's now 10-9. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 9 runs on 12 hits for the Industrials. Bob Cole earned save number 12 this season.

Pittsburgh second baseman Bill May contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 39th hit of the season and put the Industrials ahead, 10-4.

"Wild game," said MacPherson after it ended.

The Industrials move to 56-50 with the win, while the Bluebirds drop to 51-57.
