St. Louis Slaps 5-4 Loss on Milwaukee
The St. Louis Explorers did just enough to sneak past the Milwaukee Dairymen, 5-4, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. St. Louis pitcher Bob Trout, in particular, had a standout performance. St. Louis raised its record to 62-51 with the win.

St. Louis won the game in part because of Freddie Boone. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Explorers ahead, 5-4. For the game, Boone had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Trout.
