The Chicago Hawks defeated the Houston Drillers, 4-2. Left Fielder Lou Middleton deserved a large share of the credit. Middleton was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for the Hawks. Chicago reliever Leonardo Ibarra picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Bill Switzer took the loss. Tanner Latour was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 9 save opportunities.

Paul Backer helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk.
