San Diego center fielder Jerry Olsen had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Denver at Gates Crescent Park. Olsen was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Reliever John Suozzo picked up the win. His record improves to 2-4. Brian Meade took the loss. The loss makes San Diego 58-60.

Alex Martinez was the walk-off hero for Denver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Burros third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
