McGee Hits 2 home runs in Eagles Win
The 9-6 Washington win over New York was due in large part to Lee McGee. The Eagles first baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Ramon Juarez. He tossed 144 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 6 runs on 12 hits. Richie Kingery earned his 16th save in 24 chances.

In the top of the seventh, the Eagles grabbed the lead when McGee hit his 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Bruce Elsner made it 7-5, Washington.

"No time for posing," said McGee. "The next game will be here before you know it."

The Eagles move to 57-60 with the win, while the Knickerbockers drop to 62-56.
