The Los Angeles Blockbusters beat the St. Louis Explorers, 5-3, at Blockbuster Stadium. The win was due in part to second baseman Ken Frederick, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bill Kaiser picked up his 4th save of the season. The 6th-place Blockbusters are 53-65.

With Los Angeles leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Frederick hit a fastball from Jorge Gonzalez for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Blockbusters ahead, 4-0.

Frederick told a Los Angeles Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
