Despite a fine performance by left fielder Jeff Madsen, the New York Knickerbockers lost to the Kansas City Bulls, 7-6, in 12 innings. Madsen was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk. Dave Fields picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Wayne Houston, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in saves with 16, was tagged with the loss. The second-place Bulls have won 5 straight.

The Bulls got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Rick Adams. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bulls.
