Blockbusters Clip Bobcats, 5-4
|
Lakefront Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Cleveland Bobcats and Los Angeles Blockbusters.
The Los Angeles Blockbusters turned back the Cleveland Bobcats, 5-4, at Lakefront Stadium. Harvey Katzen, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Joe Hamby got the win, improving to 8-7. He worked 9 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 5.
Ken Frederick, the 13th overall pick in the 1967 draft, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman drew 2 walks.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Katzen told the Los Angeles Today.
The win makes Los Angeles 60-74.
