Explorers Win at Brooklyn, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest, St. Louis pitcher Ramon Juarez was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Alex Alonso finished the game for St. Louis and earned his 22nd save. St. Louis is 66-68 and Brooklyn, with the loss, 69-65.
There was more than one reason the Explorers beat the Bluebirds, but Juarez's big at-bat in the top of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Juarez.
