Traders Capture Close Win
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.

Despite a fine performance by left fielder Kevin Campbell, the St. Louis Explorers lost to the Chicago Traders, 8-7, in 17 innings. Campbell was 4 for 7 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The third-place Traders have won 5 consecutive games.

The Traders got a clutch hit from catcher Ed White. In the bottom of the 17th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Traders.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Chicago field general Larry Link.
