|
The Chicago Traders dealt the St. Louis Explorers a 4-2 loss at Union Field. Chuck Panetta was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Randy Weisenberg was credited with the save, his 40th in 43 tries. With the win, the Traders have a record of 84-68.
Panetta had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Ramon Sandoval, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Traders a 4-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Panetta.
Panetta said his team "played with focus and determination."
