Slumping Blockbusters Lose 8th Straight
|
St. Louis turned a fine outing from starter Marty Clark into a victory over the Los Angeles Blockbusters at Blockbuster Stadium. The final score was 3-2. St. Louis has won 3 straight, while Los Angeles has lost 8 in a row.
Chuck Panetta, who finished 2nd in the NBL in hits with 199 in 1971, aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"It's going to click," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch. "It's just a matter of when."
