Drillers Take Nail-Biter Over Wolverines
Pitching was the name of the game for the Houston Drillers and the Detroit Wolverines. Houston won it, 2-1, in 15 innings. Houston starter Rick McStay was in command. Houston goes to 9-10.

The Drillers got a clutch hit from third baseman Wade Fields. In the bottom of the 15th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Drillers.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Steven Palps.
